HOW TO TRANSITION SILK SKIRT INTO FALL

It’s hard to believe hot-girl-summer has been and gone and we are now in September. The hot girl summer trend I’ve been wearing a lot has to be the silk skirt. Taking its inspiration from the ’80s from silk scarfs, silk shirts, silk dresses to silk skirts we continue to see this trend till this day, you only have to open your Instagram to see it.

I snatched myself this skirt from H&M and ever since I’ve been obsessively styling it all kind of ways. I think I have managed to rinse this skirt out of all looks you can possibly think of. It is so simple; all you have to do is walk into your wardrobe and pick out a shirt, tank top, bodysuit or sweater to go with it. It’s that simple!

herego This is possibly the simplest one of all the looks, but a white basic tee with this skirt is the best combo. I added to this look a simple gold hoop earring with my staple Micheal Kors watch. This look can either be worn with white pairs of trainers; Nike Airforces or Blanciagas to name a few, for an everyday casual look. Or to switch it up, how I like it is to wear it with a trustee pair of heels.

Possibly similar to the first look, but I also like a good graphic tee. This one from ZARA in black contrasts very well with the colour of the skirt. I’ve loved the snakeskin trend A LOT, so had to also include this. If you haven’t read my recent post be sure to click here, where I talk about all things snake print.

These snake print boots from River Island are super comfortable and a great way to mix the colours. Lately, I’ve been digging and experimenting with colours, and psychologically, but not a guarantee, it has definitely boosted my mood. As out there as this look may seem, it is actually quite elegant and that is what I love about it. It’s like you tried but not too hard! The heeled boots elongate your legs making them appear long and with the silk skirt, you’ll die-hard looking like a model walking down the street.

So sadly as the summer is coming to an end, I had to bring out my jumpers. A simple jumper will do, one with a crew neck for the early days of autumn when the temperatures haven’t quite hit to the minus’.  Although, as the temperatures hit, I’d suggest investing in a much heavier knit such as this one from H&M.

I sized this one up in a Large- my normal size is XS. I like to wear my jumpers oversized so they are slouchy and also as sometimes I like to wear them as dresses with knee-high boots…but we’ll leave that for another post, let me know if you’ll be interested in the comment section below.

As the top half of the body is heavy, I like to tone down the look by wearing ankle-hugging boots. I say ‘ankle-hugging’ because with boots that are not hugging this can make the look very frumpy and not appealing.

Which look was your favourite and have you also been wearing this trend? Let me know in the comment section. Also if you’ve made it this far please like, share and subscribe to us on BLOGLOVIN for more looks and trends.
